Therapeutic Bathing

For centuries, people have used baths to heal, restore and re-centre. Bathing is recognized as Thermal Medicine. Many ancient philosophers, including Hippocrates and Plato, heralded the many benefits of hydrotherapy.
One of the most luxurious and transformative ways to enjoy this experience is to incorporate essential oils and bentonite clay. This combination can be used for relaxation and detox.
A couple drops and a few scoops can transform your next bath into a luxurious detoxifying and relaxing experience. And what’s best, you can  enjoy this time at a very minimal cost.

A little about Bentonite Clay

Sodium bentonite clay is volcanic ash with a high colloidal value - it's excellent at absorbing toxins from anything it touches. It is a powerful player in a variety of face masks, as it helps gently draw out bacteria, dead skin cells, and other complexion contaminants.
To experience these detoxifying benefits all over your body, a bentonite clay detox bath is an ideal way to go.
To some degree, your lymphatic system is designed to detoxify. When you are not eliminating properly, even constipated in the slightest, these toxins are re-released back into your bloodstream.
This is where a detox bath is extremely supportive. While you soak in the warm water, the clay goes to work absorbing the toxins from your skin. Rather than forcing them out, like a sauna would do, the clay particles actually absorb the toxins into their own molecules. Without getting too scientific, this works because toxins carry positive electrons and clay particles carry negative ones. This allows the clay to draw the toxins outward.

A little about Essential Oils

Essential oils are the subtle, aromatic and volatile liquids extracted from the flowers, seeds, leaves, stems, bark and roots of herbs, bushes, shrubs and trees through distillation. According to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese manuscripts, priests and physicians were using essential oils thousands of years before Christ to heal the sick.

They are the oldest form of medicine and cosmetic known to man and were considered more valuable than gold. Science is only now beginning to validate the incredible healing substances found in essential oils.
Essential Oils are said to be supportive of the body's natural defences, supportive of the immune, circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, digestive, nervous, and other body systems. They aid in maintaining normal cellular regeneration, are mood elevating, antiseptic, high in antioxidants, and more. Overall they reduce the appearance of aging and are supportive to help the body detoxify naturally - promoting overall health, vitality, and longevity.

How to Prepare a Relaxing, Detoxifying Bath

Are you feeling a little worn-down? Even minor muscle aches can become a burden over time. If you have 20 minutes, a detox bath with bentonite clay and essential oils can work wonders. A restorative soak can stimulate your lymphatic system, helping you press the "reset" button and reclaim your general wellness. The best part? You don't need to have a ton of ingredients on hand.

Indulge in a Bath Tonight

My Favorite Recipe:
  • 1 - 2 C. Bentonite Clay
  • 10-15 Drops of either Lavender, Sandalwood, Geranium or Ylang ylang (or a combination of any 2 or 3 of the oils)
Begin by running a bathtub full of very warm water. While the water
is running, grab a non-metal bowl. (Preferably glass) In the bowl, gradually mix three to four cups of bentonite clay with warm water until the mixture becomes smooth. Then, slowly add in your essential oils, mix well and pour into the bath of warm water.
That's it! Soak for at least 20 minutes to allow the clay and oils to do their job and provide a thorough detox. To ensure you stay hydrated, keep a glass of water close by and take frequent sips.

Monday Morning Mindset With RC, Depletion & The Good Ole’Days

The good ole days
In some respects the old days were perhaps ahead of these,
Before we got to wanting wealth and costly luxuries;
Perhaps the world was happier then, I'm not the one to say,
And when it's sub-zero weather I am glad I live to-day.
Old-fashioned winters I recall—the winters of my youth—
I have no great desire for them to-day, I say in truth;
The frost upon the window panes was beautiful to see,
And the chill upon that bedroom floor was not a joy to me.
I do not now recall that it was fun in those days when
I woke to learn the water pipes were frozen tight "again."
To win once more the old-time joys, I don't believe I'd care
To have to sleep, for comfort's sake, dressed in my underwear.
Old-fashioned winters had their charms, a fact I can't deny,
But after all I'm really glad that they have wandered by;
We used to tumble out of bed, like firemen, I declare,
And grab our clothes and hike down stairs and finish dressing there.
Yes, brag about those days of old, boast of them as you will,
I like the modern methods that have robbed them of their chill;
I like the cheery steam pipe and the upstairs snug and warm
And a spine that's free from shivers as I robe my earthly form.
