June 2025 - Effects of Smells on the Brain Pt #2

The Effect of Smells on the Brain Pt #2

Did you know that you will get a much, much better result from your oils if you inhale them, if you smell them before you apply them. Drop a couple drops onto the palm of your hand, make a scent tent and deeply inhale.
Garry Young always said, “the inhalation is as important, or more important than the topicaI application.”
This is why it is called aroma-therapy, and why in ancient history, aromatherapy was so important. It’s because the aroma has a profound effect on your minds, on your thinking, and on your feelings, hence your attitude thus affecting all of your actions and everything you do in your life.

Here is a simple truth, right here, right now, up until this point in your life everything that you have in your life, you have either attracted or allowed.....because of your attitude. And what is attitude? Attitude is a composite of our thoughts, feelings and actions. This determines the energy that comes out from our body and what we energetically attract back to yourselves.

Often as a result of smelling the oils we experience ...
Relaxation in the body:
  • We feel happier more content
  • We experience a relieving of tension
  • We feel clearer in the mind
  • We may experience improved concentration, alertness & more mental clarity
  • We feel happier

So how does this happen, let me give a quick brief explanation.....
  • The molecules of essential oils are so tiny they lift off the surface and become airborne – this is why they are so fragrant. It has to do with the viscosity and volatility ...the thinness or thickness of the oil, and it’s ability to vaporize and become airborne.
  • It’s an interesting fact that all of our 6 senses are wired directly to the rational cortex of the brain, except for the sense of smell.
  • Our sense of smell is wired directly to the limbic system, the emotional cortex. This is why one has an emotional response to an aroma before a logical one.
  • As the oils are inhaled they stimulate the receptors of the olfactory system. The Olfactory system is the mechanism of smell.
  • These receptors are similar to hair, like extensions of the nerve fibers that lie submerged in a thin layer of mucosal lining.
  • As the vapor molecules enter the nasal cavity, they are received by the receptors, similar to a key in a lock.
  • When a vapor has a proper structure it is received by the nerve ending in the form of an impulse.
  • The nerve impulse is transmitted to the limbic system. The body’s limbic system is the center of memory, emotion and motivation.
  • The limbic lobe can also directly activate the hypothalamus acting as our hormone control center, which is referred to as the master gland.
  • This is critical for us to remember. Because the essential oils are going directly in to the center of our memory emotion and motivation.......wow.
  • Oils are transporters.....you have to originate the thought you want them to emphasize...........whatever thoughts you are thinking is not the responsibility of the oil.....that’s your responsibility.........you are the one directing the oil.

Monday Morning Mindset

Monday Morning Mindset with White Angelica, Removing Shame & the Carpathia

The Carpathia

There were three ships nearby when a distress signal was received. The first one, Sampson, was only 7 miles away from the sinking ship, but they turned their backs because the crew aboard the ship had been involved in illegal hunting of seals and they didn’t want to get caught.
There was another ship about 14 miles away from the sinking ship. The Californian, they received the distress signals, but they were surrounded by ice and it was night time, so it didn’t feel safe to move. They decided to wait until the morning for the conditions to improve.
The third ship, Carpathia, was about 60 miles away and moving in the other direction when they heard the cries over the radio. The captain, Arthur Rostron, decided to try to help. He prayed to God for direction and turned his boat. The ship drudged through ice fields in the dark and kept going.
The shipwreck it sailed to was none other than the Titanic. They saved 705 lives that night because one man had the courage to look beyond his own comfort and choose the right over the easy.
Courage is not about intense bravery. It’s just about having the fortitude to listen to intuition and trust the process. Knowing that when you listen to intuition, are guided and protected .
